Abstract : | Abstract. The acoustic impulse response technique is used as a non-destructive means to measure the apple firmness. Jonagold apples picked at different ripeness stages and stored for different periods of ULO and cold air storage are monitored for the change in the firmness and weight loss during shelf display. Suggestions are given for the picking time, length of storage and shelf display. This can guide the optimal control of the apple quality for a better market price. |
