Abstract :

The field experiment was carried out in the years 2007-2009 on a farm located in the locality of Rozborz, municipality of Przeworsk. It was located on brown soil classified as good wheat complex and valuation class II. Two varieties of spring triticale: Wanad and Gabo were tested. The experiment included three ways of cultivating the crop: mechanical cultivation - harrowing during the phase of needling and also in the 4-5 leaves stage of spring triticale development; mechanical and chemical care – harrowing during the phase of needling and in the 4-5 leaves stage of spring triticale, with additional use of plant protection products; chemical care by only the use of plant protection agents. The Wanad variety was characterised by higher yielding stability than the Gabo variety. The methods of canopy care had the strongest and significant effect on changes in the height of the plants, the cast of ears and in the yield of grain per unit area, whereas, they did not have any significant effect on the basic components of yield structure. The highest grain yield was obtained in the conditions of the chemical care application.
