Abstract :

Abstract. The paper comprises results of measurements of aeration related soil properties such as: relative oxygen diffusion coefficient (D/Do), air permeability (k): oxygen diffusion rate (ODR), redox potential (Eh), dehydrogenase and catalase activities as well as respiration rates and microbial counts (bacteria, actinomycetes and fungi) of five soil profiles from different countries (Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia). The measurements have been performed in the Institute of Agrophysics in Lublin (Poland) in the framework of common multilateral cooperation project.
