Abstract :

A b s t r a c t. The model describing a spherical shell during compression of a single seed between parallel plates is presented. Increase of surface area surrounding cotyledon act caused by change of seed shape is the main aim of this work. The values of the contact area with a flat plate, the barrel diameter and the lateral surface area of the barrel for circular and parabolic shape were determined as a function of strain of compressed seed. Spherical body compressed between parallel plates change its shape in to circular barell for small deformation and in to parabolic barell for large deformation.
