Abstract : | Abstract. Based on data reflecting size effect of soil clod strength, and on theoretical computation of clod strength, an approach was suggested for evaluation of crack net connectedness and critical stress-intensity factor for a given soil. For validation of the suggested approach published soil clod strength data were used. The results show the possibility of computing clod size distribution after tillage, which can then be used as an initial state for the next processes, e.g., erosion, and also enables computing internal clod cracking and magnitude of related parameters. |
