Abstract :

The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of hydrothermal treatment on the yield of spring wheat in the production conditions of central-eastern Poland. Hydrothermal conditions were determined by the Sielianinov hydrothermal coefficient. Meteorological data were provided by the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management in Warsaw. The second data group was spring wheat yields derived from studies published by the Central Statistical Office. The relationship between the yield of spring wheat and the hydrothermal conditions was constructed using multiple linear regression model with the application of the stepwise procedure of variables selection. More intensive drought in April favoured spring wheat yielding, while drought occurring in June resulted in a reduction in grain yield of the plant. The regression equations constructed allowed to explain the variability of spring wheat yield from 25 to 53%.
