Abstract : | The work is based on measurements of starch content in tubers of medium early edible potato cultivars, taken in 2010-2013. The data were recorded by six COBORU (Research Centre for Cultivar Testing) stations located in various regions of Poland. Variance analysis was conducted following a three-way cross-classified model with one observation within the sub-class. A significant effect of locations, study years and cultivars on starch content was confirmed. Also, years x locations interaction and locations x cultivars interaction were found to be significant. The highest starch content was determined in tubers harvested in Uhnin and the lowest in Słupia. Moreover, the most starch was accumulated in 2013, significantly less in 2012 and the least in 2010. At most stations, over the growing season in 2012 and 2013, precipitation was lower compared with 2010-2011. Accumulation of starch was the highest for cv. Gawin and Tajfun. Frezja accumulated as much starch as Ametyst, the content being the lowest for Satina. |
